What's your Shoe Count?

A Girl's Best Friend

Well, you can’t really put a number to that. I don’t want more shoes said no girl ever. High Heels, Flats, Wedges, Pointy Pumps and the list goes on and on. Just like clothes there are some great options available for each season that comes by. So it’s absolutely hard to resist to not stock up in each style and colour. Lollzz. Of course, coming from a shoe addict I never end up wearing all my shoes. I just like to see them sitting pretty in my shoe closet.

Since we don’t want to limit you to buying a fixed number of shoes we bring some of the shoes that are Must Haves for every girl. Apart from these, feel free to go splurge on many more.

Shoes are a girl’s best friend and they can instantly cheer you up. I personally recommend a statement pair as well, something that is very different and doesn't really match with any outfit. That’s the charm of having such a pair.
So ladies what’s your shoe count. Mine is 75.

Friends Forever!

Friends Forever

Friendship’s day just went by and was celebrated with a lot of hype and joy. J My bestie visited me from Mumbai. The agenda was to chat over coffee, shop, chat and then shop some more!! Lolzzz sounds like fun times right? Well it was all that and much more. We had so much to talk that the last two days went by in a jiffy, but our conversations carry on. :)

So anyways we decided on shopping at our favourite local store called “Much More”. The store sources its stuff from Thailand and has a good range of clothes, cosmetics, shoes and bags. The latest trends at great bargains are the USP of this brand. They have expanded rapidly in few years from 1 – 4 stores spread across the prominent areas of the city.

Inculcating Good Table Manners In Your Kid!

Good Table Manners!

When my son was born, we barely waited for him to sit upright and put him in a feeding chair and honestly I don’t regret it. It’s the most convenient and hassle free method to feed your child with less spillage and more food going inside. Well, in my case it was also my OCD to not ruin my fancy collection of table linen so the idea worked very well. ;)  But jokes aside I observed that by putting him in his own chair, he developed a sense of belonging to not just eating his food but also by eating it himself. His hand and mouth coordination developed pretty early and he enjoyed his meals.

Try and initiate table talk with your child before you put them on the chair. Without talking to them they might not like the idea of being strapped in a chair and being made to eat, especially if like most toddlers meals are a problem. In my case my son was not fussy about food, he ate whatever I made for him, however being constricted was a big thing for him, considering he refused to be swaddled as a new born. Lollzzz.

Safe and Fun Chair – As important is safety and a sturdy chair with straps as little babies are still finding their feet, literally also opt for a chair which is bright and colourful. This will get their interest and curiosity going to explore it and will sit more readily. Chicco, Mothercare has some great options.

Functionality – As much fun as it to let your baby eat by themselves, it is also a task to clean and maintain a high chair. Pick a chair with a removable plastic top so that it can be removed and washed easily. A good grade plastic back and body also aids in wiping off clean whenever necessary.

Crockery and Cutlery – Again try and pick out designs which your baby can relate to. Perhaps their favourite cartoon character or favourite toy. Again, baby brands offer a wide range of interesting stuff. Even their cutlery can be picked up age wise which will help in forming a better and strong grip.

Bibs – This was a huge task as my baby didn’t like being restrained, experts suggest to avoid tie up bibs as they pose choking hazards, however the Velcro ones were of no use to me.

A Messy Affair – This is my favourite part. And exhausting later on. However, to inculcate independence you have to allow your child to eat by themselves and put on a smile even if you feel like crying looking at the mess. Lollzzz..

I used to constantly monitor my baby whilst he ate. In fact I started eating my meals with him which I do till date. This made it a more enjoyable routine and something we did together every day.

Please remember to Never Ever leave your baby unattended in a high chair; they are at a huge risk of falling headlong and hurting themselves. Even if they are strapped up, ensure you are around and you are watching over them. These little things are smart and quick to learn to unstrap themselves without us realizing it.

My Tryst With Make Up!

My Tryst With Make - Up

I absolutely love applying make – up, however I suck at it. I am usually a Kajal person and once in a while a lipper. Right from college days kajal was my staple, I wouldn’t step out of the house without it. If I did by mistake my friends thought I was unwell or I had forgotten. J I felt beautiful with just a thin line of it under my eyes. However, post – delivery and the 30+ benchmark I started a fresh relationship with cosmetics. I started understanding what would look good on my skin type, features as well as the occasion. I tried on different stuff and identified what I would like to discard and what I would buy again. The Indian Fashion Scene has evolved tremendously and so has make up. Fashion and Ramp shows have always bent on dramatic styles, however one can dare to sport a similar look nowadays. Doing your own make – up is a trend setting in with the younger generation as well. I know a lot of young things who are firm on doing their own make up even on their big day. They know what looks good on them and also how to use the products to enhance their beauty. Kudos to these girls. I would be totally lost with boxes of eye shadows, nail enamels and lipsticks. Lollzzz..
Coming back to me, I decided that I need to have a look for myself which requires minimal effort and time. Well, because I am lazy and don’t have the time to learn the basics. ;) Kajal had to be there of course, along with some other products that I invested in.

OOTD - Luncheon with Friends

Over the Weekend had a lunch plan with a friend. Hubby’s and kids were also part of it. So we had three little boys and two not so little. ;) For me that was easy enough to decide that it cannot be a dress or a skirt. ;) Yeah, these boys can make you run and sweat out quite a bit. If you have spotted a mom grabbing her dress and running, hair all over the place chances are that you would have spotted me. Lollzzz.. But nonetheless lunch with family is a double delight for me. First is of course quality time with my loved ones and second yeah you guessed it, no cooking. ;)
